Privacy Policy for Nekodoro

Effective Date: August 27, 2026  ·  Last Updated: August 27, 2026

Ritesh Sethia ("we," "our," or "us") built Nekodoro, a Pomodoro-style focus timer where your focus keeps a virtual cat companion alive. This Privacy Policy explains what information Nekodoro collects, how it's used, and your choices.

By using Nekodoro, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

1. Information We Collect

Account Information

Nekodoro can be used as a Guest, with no account and no data leaving your device. If you choose to sign in (via Google Sign-In, or Sign in with Apple on iOS), we receive a unique account identifier and, depending on the method and your privacy choices, your name and email address. Signing in lets your progress sync across devices and be backed up.

App Data

If you're signed in, the following is stored in our cloud database (Firebase/Firestore) so it syncs across your devices:

If you use Nekodoro as a Guest, this same data is stored locally on your device only, and is not sent to us.

Usage Analytics

We use Firebase Analytics to understand how the app is used (e.g. screens viewed, features used) in aggregate. This is not used to build advertising profiles and is not shared with advertisers.

Purchase Information (iOS)

On iOS, Nekodoro may offer optional in-app coin purchases. If you make a purchase, it's processed entirely by Apple through the App Store, and purchase records are managed via RevenueCat, our purchase infrastructure provider. See Section 4 for what RevenueCat receives. This feature does not exist on Android.

Advertising (Android only)

On Android, Nekodoro shows ads via Google AdMob (banner ads, and optional rewarded ads you choose to watch for bonus coins). AdMob may collect device and advertising identifiers to serve and measure ads. No ads are shown on iOS.

App-Blocking / Focus Mode (Android only)

Android's optional Focus Mode feature lets you block distracting apps during a session. To do this, it uses Android's Usage Access permission to detect which app is currently in the foreground, and the "display over other apps" permission to show a blocking overlay. This detection happens entirely on your device — which apps you open is never transmitted to us or anyone else. This feature does not exist on iOS (no equivalent system capability).

Information We Do NOT Collect

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information described above to:

We do NOT sell your data to third parties, build advertising profiles from your in-app activity, or use your data to make automated decisions that affect you.

3. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. Your data is shared only with the service providers described in Section 4, solely to provide the functionality they support.

RevenueCat receives your account identifier and purchase history (which coin pack was purchased). It does not receive your cat data, focus history, or any other in-app content.

5. Data Retention

6. Data Security

Signed-in data is stored in Google Firebase/Firestore, protected by access rules that restrict each account's data to that account only. Guest data never leaves your device. All network communication uses encrypted HTTPS connections. No method of storage or transmission is 100% secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information.

7. Your Rights, Including Account Deletion

You can request deletion of your account and all associated cloud data at any time from within the app (Settings → Delete Account), or by emailing us. Deleting your account permanently removes your synced cat, coins, progress, and account identifier from our systems. If you're a Guest, uninstalling the app removes all your data, since it was never sent to us.

In the app: Settings → Cloud Sync → Delete Account.

9. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make significant changes, we will update the "Last Updated" date above and, for material changes, note it within the app.

Your continued use of Nekodoro after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy.
